Ever make a wish and then regret it? When I turned 40, I started to show my age. I wished my skin looked younger. Well, wishes come true... but not always how you planned. My wish came true - sometimes I look like a teen. Yep, I STILL get zits.

Damn that wish genie. Gotta be much more specific on those wishes moving forward.

Anyway, if I remember correctly from my mom scolding me as a child - if you pop those zits, you'll get a scar. So here I am in my 40's with that still echoing in my head. What to do?

I searched on line and saw facialists do something called extractions. I'm a guy, I've never had a facial, but I thought "hey, they are pros, they know." With a little more searching, I found a commonly used device that facialists use: a Comedo Extractor. Sounds kind of evil... I like it. I got one. Not just any Comedo Extractor, but a "Double Comedo Fine Loop Extractor".

In my house, it is now just called "The Tool". I think that happens when something moves to legendary status... the name gets shortened, like Madonna, Sting, or in this case, The Tool.

It is a stainless steel device, about the length of a pencil. It has some weight and shine to it, so you kind of feel like a surgeon ready for an operator when you pick it up. The procedure is simple. Line one of the "loops" up on a zit and gently (or sometimes not so gently) push. Voila... zit no more. And no horrid scar like mom warned you about. With my "Double Comedo", I have a choice of the fine or medium loop - depending on the size of the offending blemish.

Get one, you'll thank me!
